NLT started scanning its holdings as far back as 2005. Scanning the written heritage and making it available free of charge are among its strategic goals. Hence, it has made available to users, readers, and surfers a virtual library whose core is comprised of public domain documents.

The Reading Ear Project NLT launched a project called "Ouï-lire" [literally, the ear reads, in Arabic] in association with the Abdelwahab Ben Ayed FABA Association. The project provides for setting up a sound studio within NLT to produce audio versions of a number of books. découvrir

Solar Energy NLT has embarked on fitting its premises with solar energy. This is the first project of its kind among public sector institutions and may be considered as a pilot in terms of quantity, as the project has already allowed for installing 220 panels, accounting for 10% of NLT’s needs.découvrir
