ANNOUNCEMENT
Regarding the Launch of a Virtual Museum
of the Tunisian Written Heritage
The National Library of Tunisia, in partnership with the Tunisian Academy Beit al-Hikma, plans to create a virtual museum of the Tunisian written heritage. This museum is intended to shed light on the most salient literary, intellectual and scientific works, produced in manuscript or printed form in the country throughout its history, from the Punic era to the present day.
The objective of the project is to develop a selection of illustrated and commented trilingual information sheets (in Arabic, French and English) that will serve to highlight the treasures contained in the collections of the National Library of Tunisia by presenting, in a lively and documented form, the main actors, institutions, professions, places and monuments related to the written word, periodical or book, its production and its exploitation, through time.
Specialists in these fields, interested in this pedagogical project and able to address a general public, are invited to send proposals (title of the work, author(s), date of publication, rationale) which will be examined by the Project’s scientific steering committee, to the following e-mail address: direction.generale@bnt.nat.tn
