Different Areas of the National Library of Tunisia
The National Library of Tunisia has six reading rooms including Khaldounia Library which supply a variety of services : orientation, information and guidance in terms of research.
The Tunisian National Library's collecions enable access to : manuscripts, periodicals, printed materials, non printed materials and multimedia.

Manuscripts Room (Hassan Hosni Abdelwahab)
It’s located on the ground floor. It has seating for one hundred fourty four readers. Readers will need researcher pass for entry to the reading rooms In the manuscripts room you can find reference and usual materials on the open shelves

Reading Room with open access (Fatma Haddad)
It’s located on the second floor.It has seating for two hundred readers (200) . It has facilities for printed collection classified in open shelves according to Dewey’s Decimal Classification

Periodicals and Electronic resources Room

It’s located on the fourth floor. It has seating for one hundred seventy seven readers.
It’s a Multipurpose Room which provides access to periodicals and non printed documents such as : Maps, Postcards , photographies, electronic resourses and online and digital library General Catalog.

The Khalduniyya Library
It was found in 1896 thanks to the major efforts of the Sadiki prep school students who called for enlightement and modernism. It was the source to invest teaching modern sciences in Zitouna such as Maths, Chemicals and hygiene rules.
It has been annexed to the national library in the early eighties. It was also reopened to public in 1992

Youth Space
This Area was created in 2016. The space is broken down into three zones :one for children and the two others for teens. The school librarinas there are creative ,supportive which helps connect teens to library.
This extension fills about three thousand of printed books (3000) provided by the national library and four thousand others offered by Biblionef ‘s association. The children’s library has got brightly coloured materials to inspire teens to stay and get lost in a book.

Reading Room « louis Braille »
The Natinal Library has taken into consideration all kind of readers including sightless and partially sighted readers that ‘s why Louis Braille’s Reading Room was created in 2016.
The collections found in this area are a gift of Mr Mohamed Rajhi. It was very gracious of him as well Mr Mustapha Youssfi and Mr Henry Jacques Stickers for their contribution in the creation of this space.

The NTL holds thermo-hygrometic materials to control storage conditions (Humidity and Temperature).
It has got also many Collection Recovery Rooms :

-Bookbindings Room
-Digitization Room All of these workrooms become under the same departement the collection management according to the latest organizational chart of the library.

Performative Space
1- Tahar Hadad ‘s Room : is located in the first floor. It has seating for 250 visitors. It’s fully equipped with audiovisiual materials. This area is designed to a certain number of activities Such as : conference,congress,meetings and training seminars.
2- Meeting Room Space : is located in the third floor.It has seating for 150 visitors. It’s created for conferences , forums and official meetings and training.

This Space is located in the second floor. It covers an area of about 500m2.

BOOKSHOPS
They cover an area of about 800m2 for manuscripts conservation.There is also a tower of 11 floors whith the same structure covering about 12000m2 . Each floor is broken down into six stores equipped by removeble shelves that facilitate storage and display of documents.
This space is equipped with materials to stabilize the environmental conditions affecting the object in order to prolong its lifespan
