Manuscript Reading Room:

The manuscript reading room is located on the ground floor, covering 590 m2 and welcoming up to 144 researchers. This reading room is open to scholars and patrons with special research authorization that allows them to consult the nearly 40,000 works comprising of a variety of subjects.

Research Room:

The research room welcomes up to 220 patrons and covers 1200m2.

General Reading Room:

Situated on the second floor, the general reading room is open to annual subscribers or those with a temporary research card.  This room contains a portion of the collection that is freely accessible for browsing.

Special Collections Reading Room:

This reading room consists of three rooms of 50 m2 each and can welcome up to 60 researchers.

Researcher alcoves:

Sixteen alcoves for researchers occupy 225m2.

Laboratories:

The laboratories are housed below ground (2000m2): bookbinding studios, conservation and restoration, microfilming, digitization, instructional technology, and preservation.

Storage facilities:

Journal storage is located in the periodical building (12 floors with 5000m2).  Three new storage towers, with 10, 11, and 12 floors respectively (12000m2 in total), store collections, monographs, and various other types of documents.  Additionally, there is a storage area specifically reserved for manuscripts (800m2).

Conference room

Exhibition spaces:

Exhibition spaces extend over two floors and total 505 m2 surface area.

Restaurant:

The restaurant is available for both employees and visitors, and covers 420 m2.

Parking lot:

The parking lot contains 100 parking places.

Visitor welcome area:

The visitor reception area is large and welcoming (500 m2) and includes a drink machine.
