Digital Library > Digital Collections
With so much new technology available, the National Library is in the process of creating a digital library that:
· Facilitates consultation of the collection and allows for the discovery of its richness by putting it at the fingertips of the users
· Offers a means of substitution in order better preserve original documents.
The Digital Library currently provides digital access to several themes inspired by the strengths of the National Library’s collections. Particularly, a selection of titles from the rare Tunisian periodicals collection is included, as well as other titles of a scientific, humorous, regional, and national nature (i.e., ar-Raïd At-Tunsi/Official Journal published since 1860).
The digitization program is being markedly developed by the current digitization of microfilmed materials, aided by recently acquired equipment.
